From far we saw this Flinstone’s mud house – or at least that was the name I used before I found out it’s called the Blueberry Earth House – a cute little cafe that sits perched on the hill, overlooking the fertile soils of Cameron Highlands.   Looks like Cameron Highlands lovers have one more new attraction to go to!

The roof with flourishing flowers is my favorite – looks a little bit like the hobbit’s house!

The exterior of the mud house uses (beer?) bottles to create a fun polka dot effect.

The interior was unfortunately not open yet so I was peeping from outside.  I couldn’t help but kept thinking maybe a Flinstone might come and open the door for me.  LOL!

Too bad the cafe wasn’t open but this is the kind of view you would get – a bird’s-eye view of Cameron Highlands’ green hills and its plantations like the watercress valley.

A lovely little patch of yellow flowers at the side of the mud house.

There’s plenty of things to explore around the mud house – a strawberry farm where you can pluck your own strawberries,

a diy water fountain,

a striking red phone booth,

and a huge piece of boulder!

You can see the boulder’s relative size with Gary standing next to it!

The boulder sits right at the edge of the hilltop – so these stoppers look like a good idea!

The Blueberry Earth House Cafe has its charm – even the driveway that leads up to the cafe is lined with cheerful flowers blossoming to the max.  I look forward to the next time I am back to Cameron Highlands to check out this little cafe again!  Maybe next time I will figure out where do the blueberries come in.

Getting there: If you’ve been to the Sungai Palas Boh Tea Plantation, the cafe is located at the beginning of the winding path that leads you to the Boh Tea Plantation.  The mud house doesn’t have any sign board yet, but follow the signs when you see “free entrance”. If you have not been to the Boh Tea Plantation, look for Ee Feng Gu Bee Farm on the main road in Brinchang, the entrance to the tea plantation is just diagonally across and you should be able to see some signs.
